Service Activation

Simply make your first local or IDD call in Hong Kong (or call a toll-free number 193193) to activate your SIM card. (When the call is connecting, simply follow the system's voice prompt to select language, then the system will inform you of the mobile number, stored value and expiry date of your SIM card. The related information will also be sent to your handset via SMS).

The SIM card is valid for 180 days, starting from the day of activation.

Missed Call Alert:

If your mobile phone is busy, out of coverage, switched off or has no answer, "Missed Call Alert" service can capture and store the caller's phone number, calling time and date for you. When your mobile phone becomes available again, the information will be sent to you via SMS.

  • Activate: **131#Dial
  • Deactivate: ##131#Dial
  • Enquire service status: *#131#Dial
  • Applicable to callers with Calling Number Display function activated.
  • Missed Call Alert function cannot be used in conjunction with relevant call forward and voice mailbox functions.
  • If your mobile phone cannot be reached within a certain period, the alerts will be deleted.

Call Forwarding Service

To forward calls to a designated phone number, press the following short codes on your handset to activate or deactivate the service:

Remarks: To activate call forward function (except "All Call Forward"), customer should ensure the Prepaid Card has enough balance to receive 6 minutes or more of incoming calls (for roaming, charges will be calculated base on Roaming Service Tariff), otherwise the call forward command will fail.

Voice & Fax Mailbox

Press the following short codes to subscribe or cancel the service:

  • Subscribe: *132#Dial
  • Cancel: ##132#Dial

Mailbox setting:

  • Dial 218 on your handset to listen to new user guide, then follow the instruction to record your personal greeting and establish a password.

To retrieve voice message:

  • Dial 218 via your handset; or
  • Dial 92089218 via other phones

To receive fax message:

  • De-activate any Call Forwarding functions and switch off your mobile phone.

To print out fax message:

  • Dial 92089218 on any fax machine equipped with a receiver.
  • If customer subscribes to both Call Forwarding and Voice & Fax Mailbox service, all unreceived incoming calls will be diverted to voice mail automatically. Customer can divert incoming calls to any designated number according to his needs.

Call Waiting & Call Hold Service

The Call Waiting feature enables you to answer an incoming call while you are already making a call. With Call Hold you can make a second call, while you hold your existing call.

Short Message Service - Send Messages

  • Select "Menu", "Message", then select "Write Message" / " Message Editor" / "Send New"
  • Compose your message, then select "Send" / "Send Message"
  • Enter mobile number and press "OK". To send international SMS, please enter+or001plus country code first (sending SMS to China requires entering the China mobile number only).

Remark: Dialling of the prefix "133" or "1357" to restrict or allow calling number display is not applicable for SMS sending.


"Intra-network SMS Package"

You can send 3,000 local SMS to other CMHK customers, by subscribing the "Intra-network SMS Package".Simply dial 193193 on your handset or follow the procedures below to subscribe or cancel the package:

"1-Card-Multi-Number" Service

A single Stored Value SIM card containing both Hong Kong and mainland number. The two numbers will be switched automatically when you travel in and out of Whole China^. No more call forwarding and no SIM card swapping needed.

Conversion Scheme
To fulfill the needs of customer, customer can now activate maximum 2 kinds of Day Passes simultaneously. Customer only need to subscribe a new pass at the same time the current pass is activated and the validity will be extended automatically.
Remarks:
-
Since 30-Day-Pass will be auto-renewed every month, customer cannot activate 30-Day-Pass twice simultaneously.
-
If the “1-Card-Multi-Number” day pass service has been cancelled but still valid, customer has to reactivate the cancelled service (no extra charge) before subscribe to another day pass
^Not include Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.
  • To ensure you can enjoy "1-Card-Multi-Number" service, please subscribe this service in Hong Kong.
  • The China number is assigned randomly and customer cannot return, choose or request to change to other China numbers. Customer cannot keep or use the allocated China number once the service has been expired or terminated due to whatever reasons.
  • 30-Day-Pass will be reactivated on the next day of the expiry date, please ensure that you have enough stored value to pay for "1-Card-Multi-Number" service, otherwise this service along with your China Number will be cancelled automatically.
  • The dialing method of "1-Card-Multi-Number" service is the same as Direct Dial Roaming.
  • Customers can only refill via China Mobile Hong Kong's refill methods. The stored value will be applicable for both Hong Kong & China numbers.
  • If Customer has activated Call Forwarding Service, incoming calls to both Hong Kong Number and China Number will hence be forwarded to the same designated Hong Kong Number.
  • If Customer has activated Voice & Fax Mailbox Service, all unreachable incoming calls to China Number will be diverted to voice mail automatically.

Mobile Data Services

"Mobile Data Service" allows customers to send and receive data files through their handsets. A variety of data-related services can be enjoyed through the use of Mobile Data Service.

Activate & Deactivate "Mobile Data Service"
Activate:

Press *106*01#Dial on a GPRS handset to active MMS service and GPRS service

You'll receive a Chinese and an English confirmation SMS after the services are activated.

Deactivate:

Press *106*02#Dial on your handset to deactivate.

Download Data Transmission Setting to Your Handset

Call #889, press 4, 2 and follow the instructions on your handset to save the setting.

Subscribe & Cancel Mobile Data & Wi-Fi Package

You can subscribe the “1-Day Pass”, “7-Day Pass” or “30-Day Pass” with your needs.

Activate the service as below:

After receiving confirmation SMS, please select package type and then press below short code via handset.

^When monthly (30 days from the day of data package subscription) data usage reaches 3GB, customer can still continue using the service. However, priority access to the network may be adjusted during network busy period and which may affect the data service experience. Wi-Fi Service

How to Use Wi-Fi Service

  1. When you are located at a place with CMHK Wi-Fi Service coverage, you can select “CMHK” as your Wi-Fi network directly on your notebook computer, handset or PDA.
  2. Launch your web browser*, and the login page will be displayed.

  3. Enter you mobile number and CMHK 6-digit password.

  4. Login and enjoy Wi-Fi Service right away.

To set up the password, please press * 1 2 4 * <6 digits number> # via handset.


* Inside Internet Explorer select: Tool > Internet Explorer > Connections > LAN setting. Do not select "Use a proxy service for your LAN".
- To use Wi-Fi service at tertiary institutions and Cyberport, please select “Y5ZONE” as your Wi-Fi network. After your web browser is launched, select “CMHK” as your service provider from the pull down menu, then enter your mobile number and CMHK 6-digit password.

  • Please ensure your "IDD Roaming Prepaid SIM Card" has sufficient balance before leaving Hong Kong, or you can purchase extra Refills for use overseas.

International Call Forward Service & Dialing Method

  • Activate All International Call Forward:

PIN Code

The default PIN code of the SIM card is "8888". Three consecutive failed attempts to enter the PIN code will permanently lock the SIM card. CMHK shall under no circumstances be liable for any damages or losses caused whatsoever.
